wt CAG Meeting Notes: May 14, 2009
The third meeting of the wt CAG — missing about half the members we weren’t able to break into the smaller teams but had some good discussion about engagement, the photo contest and plans for a summer BBQ.
Coordinator Update
- Lucas outlined the meetings and media coverage received in the last month, the reaction to the website as well as talked about the upcoming Pathways 2 Sustainability conference.
Photo Contest
- Decided to run a photo contest from June – September with monthly prizes and a grand prize ($500) to be awarded at the end.
ACTION: Create press release, design poster, finalize rules and submission guidelines (before June)
‘Welcome to Summer’ BBQ
- Planned for June 20 to coincide with Pioneer Days
- To be held at City Hall
- Opportunity to ask people questions about Wetaskiwin / find out if we’re on the right track with some of our goals
ACTION: Plan logistics of June 20 BBQ
- BBQ / Food (Bill)
- Organize volunteers (Lucas)
ACTION: Look into getting stickers (for participants) and other swag/wt promotional materials
ACTION: Find volunteers to help during the day (cooking, asking questions, tours of city hall)
ACTION: Create displays / places for people to comment on the draft goals and submit their own feedback (Lucas)
Videos with Waterworks
- Lucas is going to meet with the Wetaskiwin Theatre Society to discuss making some viral videos for the website
WonkStar
- Justin L. talked about a clothing line being developed to appeal to Wetaskiwin youth
Questions to Ask
- It was decided that we need a standardized form or set of questions to ask people at events (eg. BBQ) and on the website
- Agreed on three questions:
- What is it like for you to live here?
- What changes would you most like to see in Wetaskiwin?
- How could you help this happen?
- We also need to develop a question regarding how people like to get their information / how can we get feedback from people who don’t use the website, attend events, etc.
ACTION: Develop feedback form
Possible Meetings
- It was proposed that wt meet with the Wetaskiwin Legion
- Suggested that Lucas schedule more meetings with various groups
- Teams may need to organize meetings outside of CAG to start setting goals / looking at feedback so far
ACTION: Mark to arrange meeting with the Legion (June 1st meeting)
ACTION: Contact identified groups and arrange presentations (Lucas)
