M.D. of Bonnyville council has approved a new Compost Program that will reduce the M.D.’s volume of waste being shipped to the Lafond Regional Landfill. The first part of the program is directed at residents. Two composting workshops will be set up for hamlet and acreage owners to discuss reducing household waste through composting.
The Municipal District of Bonnyville continues to make improvements in how it manages residential waste says Director of Agricultural Services Matt Janz. Changes in waste collection have been made to meet new Alberta Environment standards and the M.D. is embarking on a recycling and composting program.
