I agree with you. That is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. I often get off work at 2am and enjoy the solitude of walking my dog at this time. I don`t believe I would even feel comfortable carrying money with me at that hour. I can`t even believe this was suggested.

I can see exactly why this would even brought up to the table. Panhandling. If anyone has even been anywhere in town during the summer, I’m sure you have been approached by people begging for money. It has gotten so bad that last week I was approached five times in less than fifteen minutes by the same group 4 of people asking me for money, all while sitting in the car with my young children waiting for my husband to come out of the gas station. Yes, one person asked me twice. “Bring back the vagrancy law — all persons need to have a min[imum] amount of money on them when wandering the town.” This means you cannot be walking around without a set amount of money on your person. They most likely mean something small like two dollars. I highly doubt most of the people that have been asking me for money have it. This would leave police the opportunity to remove them from the streets, relocate them to their residences or to jail so they aren’t asking other people for money to go buy beer.

No offense, but something has to be done about the panhandling. Maybe this is a start.

Thank you, Eyes Wide Open! I am glad someone pointed out that even those with money aren't necessarily welcome in town. I have contimplated several business opportunities in Wetaskiwin and have yet to act on anything as I feel they would all flop. Some people have too much control over the success or lack there off of Wetaskiwin.

That's not an idea. If this was ever to 'Actually' Happen I'd move from Wetaskiwin. I'm not into living in a town where people who have money seem to think those who don't should be scrapped off the face of the earth. This is really upsetting, and very disgusting. I'm sure that this would really paint a warm picture about our town.

Get out – we're about to make a law making it legal to deal with you nasty, nasty, dirty people – so just get out now. n nOf course you can't afford the fine for being broke and homeless – we know that – so suck it up and turn to a life of crime to pay for your unfortunate lot in life. B and E is effective – and if you get caught, you get a free meal ticket while serving your time. We're just trying to help you here. n nBrilliant. More laws. When do we start on the dome (obviously we're at risk), a population reduction law, and checkstops at all roads leading into town to screen visitors and take DNA samples to make sure they conform to our standards here? n nAgain, Brilliant idea.
