“Let’s take a look at all the positive”
There is so much good about Wetaskiwin, I think we forget about it when there is so much focus on the negative, but let’s take a look at all the positive.
I live, work and play in Wetaskliwin. I love Wetaskiwin! I get to go home for lunch most days, I’m only 5 minutes from work, rush hour only lasts 10 minutes, not 2 hours. We have wonderful walking trails and parks, especially out at Peace Hills, it’s off leash for my girls, they get to run and play and regularily meet the other regular dogs out for a walk, not to mention the many adventures we’ve had out there, the deer being chased by a fox by Lady and then by Princess, really wish I had a video camera that day! It was like the book about the frog chasing the fly, chasing the frog….ha ha. well then there were the walks where they found the porquipine and the skunk, but that hasn’t happened in years.
Ever drive down 47 Ave, and just admire the beautiful site of the huge old trees over the road? It’s absolutely picturesque, as it is for so many of our streets. Our beautiful new watertower, a land mark for wetaskiwin, and real piece of history, and wow, our historic new City Hall, what a pleasure and treat for the staff that get to work in that building. Our historic downtown buildings. Have you been in them?Beautiful, especially the ones that have been renovated and the shops they house.
And yes, Wetaskiwin has some great shopping stops, I have friends that come from Calgary, Red Deer and Edmonton and make me take them shopping every time they come, why? Because people are friendly and they find what they are looking for and some surpises too, it’s NOT the busy, crazy, hussle and bussle of the city, and we’re arent’ stuck in traffice half the day or finding a parking stall to squeeze into and, well I could go on, but the point is to focus on our positives.
Every chance I get we take our company from out town to the awesome Reynold’s museum, it’s always a treat for our guests, mature and young. They also have some great gifts for Christmas!
