We have to ask ourselves: Should we be growing?
by City of Wetaskiwin on Apr 21, 2010 • 9:30 am 1 CommentWe have to ask ourselves “Should we be growing?” — how many people can Wetaskiwin support? What is our current water supply? Maybe we need to focus more on making existing things work better and less on (un)sustainable growth.
– from the Wetaskiwin Tomorrow Community Consultation Sessions (“Encourage progressive and sustainable development“)“I think the key is sustainable and progressive as stated in the goal. As the previous comment alluded to, this does not necessarily mean grow bigger, but looking at our needs, population patterns and flow to and from the city. Why do people come here and why do they stay/leave and address these gaps.”

Growth is essential for life. Stagnation never works.
