This just came in from the Wetaskiwin Community Transportation Society:
At their meeting of 25 July 2011, the Wetaskiwin Lions Club voted to donate $30,000 to the Wetaskiwin Community Transportation Society (WCTS).
The purpose of the donation is to assist the WCTS in the purchase of handi-vans to maintain/improve the level of service it provides to the community.
The funds represent gaming proceeds from bingos and casinos the Lions have dedicatedly worked over the years.
The official presentation of the cheque from Lions President Cliff Reed to WCTS President Mark McFaul will be made on Wednesday 10 August at 11a.m. at Reed’s Cycle & Sports (4908 – 50 Street.
