CITY: Where were you born?
JESSIE: Manitoba.
C: What was your occupation?
J: I was a hairdresser.
C: How long have you lived in Wetaskiwin?
J: I’ve lived here since 1960.
C: What do you think is wonderful about Wetaskiwin?
J: Wetaskiwin is pleasant and quiet.
C: What’s your secret to a long life?
J: Laughter and good genetics. My mother lived to be over 100, and my father passed away at 97 years old.
C: What is the most amazing thing you have seen in your 100+ years of life?
J: Going on a field trip while in a country school in Manitoba to see a plane.
C: What is one piece of advice you would give to someone who is just starting out in life?
J: Continue with your education.
C: What is one thing you would go back and do differently if you had the chance?
J: I would be in business.
C: What was the most difficult thing you had to endure?
J: Taking care of my late husband after the war. His leg was injured in the war and it never healed.
