I just received an email from Moyra Kennedy our local business and industry liaison for the province. It was about setting something up in Wetaskiwin similar to Suit Yourself, an Edmonton-based charitable organization which collects and distributes quality clothing and accessories, free of charge, to low-income women who are seeking employment or making a transition in the workforce.

"I think an off leash recreation area would be great. My family (dog included) like to do things together when we are off work/school. We think Wetaskiwin is really beautiful. We have struggled with keeping our dog socialazed since we moved here and have had to commute to Edmonton off leash areas or pay (Doggy Daycare) for our animal to spend time with other animals. There is a great deal of potential in Wetaskiwin. I would be thrilled if there could be an off leash recreation area (and many more garbage cans)." -- Cassandra

"Wetaskiwin needs an overall clean up. There are far too many buildings and lots left vacant and uncared for. The owners of these buildings should still be held responsible for the upkeep. If they won’t do it then the city should step in. Does the nuisance bylaw only apply to residential properties or can I start calling in complaints about unsightly commercial properties? I walk up the main street everyday and all I see is ugly empty buildings. The city needs a plan to promote new business growth" -- Submitted
