We need the city to think from out of a box, instead of inside it

What does Wetaskiwin need?

It is a beautiful, small city with agreat community. We need the CITY to think from out of a box , instead of inside it. Need to be more flexible, so more businesses can move in this city.

I have been here 2 years, and, we have had NO alderman, or the Mayor call and ask, how are we doing. Make people feel WELCOMED.

As a small business owner, it is hard to find employees. If we had better shopping, restaurants, entertainment, we could entice more people here & sustain the shops, restaurants etc. More housing would be needed, more families would supply more workers. It has to start with bringing more people here. We have the room to grow don’t we?

“City in Motion” has lost its relativity

“I think Wetaskiwin needs to do a better job of working with its neighbors..and not just JEDI. That includes the First Nations. Engage your citizens for the long term, not just when it comes to a new plan. Plans are only useful if they are used, measured for success and then readjusted. Citizen, if you can find a way to get their buy-in, are the best placed to do just that.”

“Wetaskiwin needs to consider the gold mine it has in itself and in it’s neighbors in Hobbema.”

Wetaskiwin needs to consider the gold mine it has in itself and in it’s neighbors in Hobbema. I would like to see a stronger partnership and active communication between Wetaskiwin and Hobbema and Hobbema and Wetaskiwin. It’s a long shot but it may be a step in the right direction to curb the subtle (and by subtle I do mean it, no one would ever fess up to the word) racism.
