In February 2009, the City of Wetaskiwin began its sustainability plan, Wetaskiwin Tomorrow. Over the next two years, Wetaskiwin experienced the largest consultation in the City’s history. Now its up to all of us. Wetaskiwin is an amazing place, with even better potential. To reach that potential involves knowing where we want to go and then working towards that vision together. This website is our attempt at such a vision.

History

What is my favourite part of Wetaskiwin? -- 1 word. History

Nuisance by-law

“Your new by-law on nuisance has too many subjective words open to interpretation.” – From City Voice survey (2009) “What is it like for you to live in Wetaskiwin?”

Public toilets

“There need to be public toilets in at least four spots in Wetaskiwin. Even Porta-Pots that are maintained, cleaned and inspected regularly.” – From City Voice survey (2009) “What changes would you most like to see here?”

‘The only motion we see is going backwards.’

More retail

Also new recreational facilities would be awesome for the city. Most important we need a pro-active not a re-active By-Law. A nice looking city would help attract new...
