		<description><![CDATA[The Wetaskiwin/Ashoro Friendship Society invites students to apply for the 2013 Ashoro &#8211; Japan Study Tour Interested students are requested to submit a letter expressing their desire to be considered for Study Tour 2013 to Ashoro, Japan.  This is an experience of a lifetime! Anticipated date: Easter Break 2013 (March 29 – April 7, 2013) Travel by air, train, boat, and bus to Hiroshima, Miyajima Island, Kyoto, Osaka, through Tokyo and Obihiro Airports, and end with a homestay hosted by a family in our Twin City, Ashoro, in the province of Hokkaido Projected total cost – approximately $3600.00 (includes an English speaking Japanese guide, accommodation and most meals, but not personal expenses) Parent/Student fundraising projects and a possible Provincial Grant may reduce these costs.  Students who will be in grades 9 – 12 in term 2012-13 are eligible. Space is limited to 15 students. A selection process may be necessary. Expectations of you: Regular study sessions will be held to experience and learn about the way of life in Japan: culture; basic Japanese language; foods; simple origami; and other related topics. 		<description><![CDATA[The Maskwacis Employment Center is currently working in partnership with Alberta Works to host the First Annual “Maskwacis Job Fair 2012” in Hobbema, Alberta.   The Job Fair will be a one day event on March 14, 2012 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and will consist of 16 Employers. The focus of the Job Fair will be to showcase these businesses and companies that have potential employment for the Maskwacis Nation Members. The Maskwacis Employment Center and Alberta Works formally invite your company to participate in this exciting event.  The format of the Job Fair will be a farmer’s market set up with 16 tables set up around the mall for each vendor.  Your company will receive one table to set up and showcase to the potential labour market in the Maskwacis Area. 		<description><![CDATA[&#8211; Alberta Health Services New Release WETASKIWIN &#8212; Alberta Health Services (AHS) is rolling out an educational video designed to help many First Nations&#8217; patients better understand the concept of triage and how it improves the flow of health care services in the emergency department (ED). The 15-minute video will play on TV screens in the ED of Wetaskiwin Hospital and Care Centre to explain the triage system used throughout the province, in which the sickest patients are seen first. Presented primarily in Cree, the video also has English subtitles. &#8220;The video is designed to help people understand the process of triage and why some people go ahead of others,&#8221; says Elan Heinrichs, Unit Manager of the Wetaskiwin emergency department. In Cree tradition, elder first is proper etiquette when prioritizing patients. &#8220;This video will address a lot of these questions for all of our patients. It&#8217;s also a good way to provide information to patients who speak only Cree.&#8221; The Wetaskiwin ED receives about 29,000 annual visits. About 12,000 of these come from local First Nations communities.
