“BTW, anyone ever consider re-establishing the arts council? It would be great to have a collaborative body to network and cross-promote events. (Yes, I am aware of the City’s committee, but I am thinking of something that is exclusively arts focused).”

“Conference facilities come with the hotels.”
“Art is love people!!!”
Agree – This sounds very interesting!
[A] drop in centre (for arts and crafts)?
Disagree – We need to support the art gallery we have already.
More art and murals on business building’s walls
In this new centre, [have] several black box theatre settings with dance floors and movable seating. [It should] be very versatile for many groups to use, including school choircs, musicians and theatre productions.
Performing Arts (the teachers)
WaterWorks Players
Art Groups
Better cooperation / coordination; try crossing over in events that already exist (asking artists to participate)
Cooperate in events that come up – cross over – ask for artists to be included
Support existing clubs and centres like the WAACC to maintain equipment and programs – they are falling apart!
what about a photography contest? perhaps there’s already something like this that I’m not aware of.
What about promoting a Fringe-type festival on a smaller scale? “the edge of the fringe”
Perhaps develop a weekly or monthly “open mic” night at a family-friendly location where purchase of beverages or food is not necessary (small cover charge perhaps, if it is not hosted in a public facility). Let’s give the local musicians (especially youth) a place to share their talents with an appreciative and friendly audience.
